The South Downs – National Park status confirmed

It has recently been confirmed that a new National Park will be established on the South Downs from 31st March 2010.

The new National Park covers an area from Winchester to Eastbourne. For more information visit Natural England’s website.

It’s official – Eastbourne is the new Brighton

Or should that be the ‘old’ Brighton?

A new adaptation of Graham Greene’s novel, Brighton Rock, is being filmed in Eastbourne. (Admittedly some scenes are being filmed in Brighton too.)

The new film sees the action moved to the 1960s rather than the 1930s, and will star Helen Mirren and John Hurt.
